Everything you need to know about tickets, the Bernabéu, and your trip to Madrid

The Santiago Bernabeu is located in the heart of Madrid on Paseo de la Castellana. The easiest way to get there is by Metro Line 10 to the Santiago Bernabeu station — the exit is right at the stadium gates. From Madrid Barajas Airport, take Line 8 to Nuevos Ministerios and change to Line 10. A taxi from the airport has a fixed rate of 30 EUR. Several bus lines (14, 27, 40, 43, 120, 147, 150) also serve the area.
You can buy Real Madrid tickets through the official website at realmadrid.com, which is the cheapest option but sells out quickly for popular matches. For sold-out matches, authorized resellers like StubHub, Viagogo, and LiveFootballTickets offer tickets at a premium (typically 30-100% above face value). We recommend booking as early as possible, especially for El Clasico and Champions League matches. Our match packages include ticket options with hotel and activity bundles for the best value.
The best areas to stay near the Bernabeu are: Chamberi (10-15 min walk, charming neighborhood with great restaurants), Salamanca (15-20 min walk or short metro ride, upscale shopping district), Tetuan (10 min walk, good value hotels), and the Bernabeu area itself on Paseo de la Castellana (walking distance, business hotels). For a more central stay, Gran Via and Sol are both well-connected by metro (15-20 min ride to the stadium). We recommend Chamberi for the best balance of convenience, atmosphere, and value.
A perfect matchday in Madrid: Start with a visit to the Santiago Bernabeu Tour in the morning (book in advance). Have lunch in the Chamberi neighborhood — try a classic cocido madrileno. In the afternoon, visit the Prado Museum or stroll through Retiro Park. Head to the Bernabeu area 2-3 hours before kickoff for pre-match drinks at the bars along Paseo de la Castellana. Arrive at the stadium 60-90 minutes before kickoff to enjoy the atmosphere. After the match, celebrate (or commiserate) at the bars near Plaza de Cibeles — the traditional celebration spot for Real Madrid trophies!
Absolutely! The renovated Bernabeu Tour is one of the best stadium tours in the world. It's a 90-minute immersive experience featuring the trophy room (with all 15 Champions League trophies), the pitch-side experience, the players' tunnel, dressing rooms, the presidential box, and a spectacular 360-degree multimedia show about the club's history. Tickets cost around 30 EUR for adults. We recommend booking for the day before your match to fully appreciate the stadium when you return for the game. Book online in advance as slots fill up quickly.
The Ciudad Deportiva Real Madrid in Valdebebas is not generally open to the public for security and privacy reasons. However, open training sessions are occasionally scheduled before big matches — check the official Real Madrid social media channels for announcements. The facility is located in the north of Madrid, about 20 minutes by car from the city center. For the best Real Madrid experience, we recommend the Santiago Bernabeu Tour instead, which is available year-round.
