How to Get to Santiago Bernabeu from Madrid City Center and Airport
Complete transport guide to reaching the Santiago Bernabeu from the airport, city center, and major hotels.
Getting to the Santiago Bernabeu is easy once you know your options. Here's how to reach the stadium from anywhere in Madrid.
From Madrid Barajas Airport
Take the Metro Line 8 from Terminal 4 to Nuevos Ministerios, then change to Line 10 to Santiago Bernabeu station. Total journey time: approximately 40-50 minutes. Cost: around 5 EUR with the airport supplement.
Alternatively, a taxi from the airport costs 30 EUR (fixed rate) and takes 20-35 minutes depending on traffic.
From City Center (Puerta del Sol)
Take the Metro Line 1 to Plaza de Castilla, then walk 10 minutes south. Or take Line 10 directly to Santiago Bernabeu from Tribunal (change at Alonso Martinez). The journey takes about 15-20 minutes. This is the most popular and efficient option.
From Atocha Station
Take the Metro Line 1 northbound toward Plaza de Castilla. Change at Tribunal to Line 10 and ride one stop to Santiago Bernabeu. Total time: about 25 minutes.
By Bus
Several bus routes serve the Bernabeu area, including lines 14, 27, 40, 43, 120, 147, and 150. Buses can be slower due to traffic on matchdays.
From Gran Via
Take Metro Line 5 to Alonso Martinez, change to Line 10, and take it directly to Santiago Bernabeu station. Quick and efficient, about 10 minutes.
Walking
From Plaza de Cibeles, it's a pleasant 30-minute walk north along Paseo de la Castellana. Great option if the weather is nice — you'll pass the fountains and financial district.
Our Recommendation
Metro Line 10 to Santiago Bernabeu station is the best option for most visitors. The station exit is literally at the stadium gates. Buy a 10-trip Metrobus card for 12.20 EUR — much cheaper than single tickets.
